Day One — #ProjectAugust

Hey…here we are!

Have you got a plan for your #ProjectAugust, yet? No? Well, why not?

If you’d like to join in, here’s how it works. I’m going to take the month of August, as noted in the last blog post, and get my current work-in-progress [a novel] finished. But to take part, you don’t have to write a book — any project will do.

Just pick a project, set a weekly goal and go for it. We’ll do a weekly check-in here, and a more frequent check-in on twitter [@kcdyer, if you haven’t found me there and want to…].

At the end of the month, we’ll celebrate with Augustus, here. How will we do that? With books, of course!

If you make your goals, and can demonstrate the evidence…[excerpt? pix?] we’ll celebrate together. Augie here has a loaded Chapters card dedicated to the project, so if you succeed in your #Project August endeavour, he’ll send you a new book to enjoy.

Let’s get to it!

Sign up in the comments below by including the following information:

  • Name [or nom de plume]:
  • #ProjectAugust project description including final goal:
  • Title of book you’d like Augustus to bestow upon you, as the laurel wreath of your success:
  • Email where I can reach you to get prize-sending deets…if you qualify!

If you’d rather not put your details in the comments, you can email them straight to me at author.kc.dyer@gmail.com

Put #ProjectAugust in the subject line, so I can find it.

Ready?

Set?

#Project August is now underway!

More soon…

  1. I'm so glad for Project August, in part because today I was teetering on the edge of the why-should-I-even-try abyss of suckitude…a little motivation and mutual accountability will help me step back and re-focus on getting the story down. So, thank you!Moi = Shari GreenProject & Goal = MG verse novel wip, complete first draft Desired laurels = WAVE, a memoir by Sonali Deraniyagalaemail = sharigreen.ya AT gmail DOT com

  4. Katherine WagnerI spent July finishing an outline and structure for a steampunk novel set in an alternate 1868 British Columbia. This is a project I've started several times, but stalled badly due to a lack of preplanning. 🙂 My goal for August is to draft the first half of the novel – 50,000 words – and my goal for September is to draft the other 50,000 words. Coveted book – The new edition of Constance Hale's book, Sin and Syntax.educationwatch@gmail.comEchoing Lois's comment – thanks for the incentive!
